Scope of work:

 

  • Erosion control measures

  • Demo existing site features; signage, handrails, fencing, playground curbing, concrete curbing, asphalt parking lots

  • Remove topsoil and screen onsite

  • Cut & fill to subgrade

  • Excavate/backfill discovered underground leaking school heating piping

  • Install underground field and parking lot stormwater drainage - including stormwater pollution separator structures

  • Repair existing track and install new wearing course and line markings

  • Install 70 linear feet of boulder retaining wall

  • Install new flagpoles

  • Install proper baseball/softball outfield field vertical drainage

  • Install asphalt and concrete subbase

  • Restore existing masonry vertical surfaces

  • Install new handrails at stairs and areaways

  • Install  3,200 LF of new granite curbing

  • Install 40,000 sqft of new concrete sidewalk

  • Install 5,500 ton of new heavy and standard duty asphalt

  • Install new basketball court with benches, hoops and fencing

  • Install new tennis court with netting and fencing

  • Install 3,900 sqft Sod, topsoil, seed & mulch

Smith Site Development was awarded the low bid for Newfield Central School District's exterior campus wide improvement project, excluding Transportation Building. The project began the day after graduation in June 2025. During construction many unknowns were discovered, schedules were severely impacted, yet students/staff were able to return on time in September for the 2025-26 school year.
