Federal Stimulus Project

• Provided upgrades to the High School HVAC system, impacting several locations within the facility.

• Replaced four (4) rooftop units with modifications to existing ductwork.

• Installed a VRF system within the STEAM Academy.

• Removed and replaced acoustical ceiling systems.

Swimming Pool Abatement and Demolition

• Abatement of asbestos and PCB containing materials - including tile thinset, joint sealant and mortar, piping insulation, and transite pipe.

• Masonry infills at partitions and construction of temporary partitions to create a corridor for both structure demolition and new construction.

• Demolition of a 10,000 Sqft swimming pool and locker room primarily constructed of concrete, masonry, and steel with the footprint of the structure surrounded on three sides with active classrooms, gymnasium, and main corridor.

• Installation of a semi-permanent exterior wall weatherproofing system at the three sides of the existing building exposed once the pool structure was removed.

High School Roof Refurbishment

• Provided a new roofing system to the entire facility - 155,000 SF.

• Total removal and replacement of EPDM roof system at HS Pool area (13,000 SF) included a new 90 mil fully adhered EPDM system with vapor barrier, tapered insulation, and perimeter sheet metal edging.

• Removed and replaced damaged modified bitumen roofing system to receive new finish coating system.

• Prepared and applied a liquid applied coating system over existing modified bitumen and EPDM systems.

• Removed and replaced multiple roof expansion joints.

Main Entrance Stair Replacement

• Removal of existing front blue stone stairs and cheek walls.

• Working with the district to save money, existing concrete foundations were repurposed and received new trench drain and a refinish of existing grating.

• New brick cheek walls with precast caps.

• New granite stair treads with lighted handrails.

HVAC and Emergency Generator

• Upgraded HVAC system covering four (4) elementary school classrooms. Included placement of ventilators, heat pumps, and condensers.

• Provided update to building’s electrical system to allow for quick connection to portable generator unit. Installation included providing a quick connection panel, emergency panelboards, and an automatic transfer switch.

District Wide Upgrades

• Elementary School

  • Removed and replaced resilient flooring in several classrooms and Nurse’s Suite.

  • Repaired terrazzo through corridors and stairwells.

  • Replaced cabinetry in kindergarten classrooms.

  • Updated plumbing in classrooms.

  • Provided HVAC upgrades.

District Wide Upgrades

• Middle/High School

  • Gutted and reconstructed areas including classrooms, science labs, technology room, library, Nurse’s suite, and High School main office.

  • Abated asbestos containing materials at all areas where updates were provided.

  • Updated plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and fire alarm systems at impacted areas.

  • All renovated areas included new partitions to create new layouts for the spaces with updated finishes including doors, borrowed lites, flooring, ceilings, millwork and cabinetry, science laboratory cabinetry and equipment.

  • New exterior windows and window treatments.

District Wide Upgrades

• Transportation Center

  • Removed the service bays slab on grade.

  • Updated the trench drain system.

  • Placed new SOG and applied epoxy finish floor surface.

  • Provided a radon remediation system.

  • Updated portions of HVAC equipment in service bay areas.

  • Replaced multiple electrical devices within the service bay areas.

District Wide Upgrades

• Sitework

  • Removed and replaced concrete stairs and concrete sidewalks at several locations throughout the campus.

  • Asphalt pavement replacement and pavement markings completed in various locations throughout the campus.

Security Upgrades

• Installed interior and exterior cameras including data cabling.

Various Upgrades

• Long Branch Elementary

  • Locate and create access to an existing underground ductile iron storm line within the school.

  • Install approx. 280 lnft of cured-in-place epoxy lining in the existing storm line.

  • Backfill and patch the floor finishes at the four (4) access points.

• Transportation Center

  • Raise two (2) overhead door opening from 10’ to 12’.

  • Reinstall lintels and patch-in masonry above the new openings.

  • Install new roof and siding system at the new door openings.

  • Provide and install two (2) new overhead doors.

Fuel Tank Replacement

• Worked with MECSD to determine size and location of underground fuel tank.

• Removed existing underground fuel tank per DEC regulations.

• Prepped for natural gas conversion.

Maine Memorial Elementary - Natural Gas Conversion

• Coordinated with utility company to provide natural gas service to facility.

• Removed and installed new large capacity natural high efficiency gas fueled water heaters.

• Removed fuel oil pumps and burners from the facilities’ boilers and replaced with new burners with modulated control panels including integration with the district’s building management system.

• Abated the existing gymnasium flooring system.

• Provided a new wood gymnasium flooring system including vented perimeter base with game lines and other relaxed markings.

Security Upgrades

• Added fencing around perimeter of bus garage parking lot

• Installation of automatic sliding gate operator

• Performed selective demolition as required for expanding an exterior chiller enclosure facility.

• Placed new foundations and masonry partitions for chiller enclosure.

• Fabricated and installed an elevated galvanized structural steel platform for the new chillers to be set.

• Provided fencing barrier at chiller area including a fence barrier across the top of the enclosure.

• Provided housekeeping pads and miscellaneous interior cutting/patching of masonry walls and plaster ceilings.

ARP Project - HVAC Upgrades

• Added a VRF system to the two main wings of the building to provide air conditioning to 25 classrooms.

• Involved placement of cooling system ceiling cassettes within classrooms and heat pump/condensers on roof.

High School LGI & Maintenance Building Improvements

• Updated ceiling, lighting, and wall finishes in LGI Room

• Removed and replaced ceiling systems and lighting within the administrative office area of Maintenance Building.

• Provided structural steel support framing within the service bay area for new HVAC equipment.

District Upgrades

• Installation of greenhouse addition, including lights and heating.

• Installation of playground pavilion, including lights and security cameras.

District Wide Upgrades

• Removal of stone ballast roof and installation of new EPDM roofing, including insulation, wood blocking, and flashing.

• Interior renovations of Guidance Suite including new bathroom, new flooring, windowsills, doors, ceilings, lights, walls, and new PTAC units.

• Interior renovations of Elementary Classrooms, abate existing floors, installation of new flooring, casework, and unit ventilators.

• Interior renovations of corridor bathrooms, removed tile, fixtures, doors, lights, exhaust fan, new tile, fixtures, doors, lights and exhaust fan.

• Weight Room addition on second floor, including structural steel, EIFS exterior, relocation of windows, new water cooler, spray fireproofing, removal and reinstallation of ceilings, new lights, and above ceiling unit ventilators.

• New soccer field with drainage, walking paths, bleachers, scoreboard relocation, SOD, water hydrant, and water wheel.

• Removal of damaged siding at Bus Garage, installation of new siding with snow catchers on roof.

High School Building Improvements

• Removed and replaced multiple aluminum windows and doors at the High School Kitchen and Cafeteria with new aluminum window and door systems.

Lobby Renovations

• Upgrade the existing lobby reception area.

• Remove the existing windows and vertical columns.

• Construction a sloped soffit over the entire reception area.

• Install a new secure window system with deal trays and talk throughs.

• Modify casework below the existing counter.

Limited Modification Project

• Replaced exterior security gate system.

• Performed masonry restoration at building’s exterior, addressing mortar joints, control joints, and expansion joints.

• Installed new concrete pad for designated outdoor employee break area.

• Updates to wall paint, carpet flooring, ceilings, and locker room spaces within administrative portion of the building.

• Addition of new package passer and detention service window at Public Lobby area.

• Reconstruction on holding cells and booking spaces.

• Replacement of multiple exterior and interior detention doors, frames, and hardware.

• Replacement of cabinetry, including plastic laminate, solid surface, and stainless steel finishes.

• Replacement of recreation yard’s overhead coiling door system.

• Updates to the correctional kitchen walk-in cooler and freezer units.

• Updates to correctional area shower facility.

Roof Replacement

• Removal of asphalt shingles, repair roof deck as necessary.

• Installation of metal roofing and trim.

HVAC Upgrades

• Modification of existing ductwork to allow installation of air conditioning.

• Insulate existing ductwork, installation of wiring, and conduit of power.

• Installation of controls with remote control abilities.

HVAC Upgrades

• Remove existing stream heating system in entirety.

• Abate hazardous insulation.

• Installation of new hydronic heating system in entirety.

• New boilers, piping, emitters, piping insulation, and controls.

Roof Repairs

• Repair and recoat 170,000 sqft of polyurethane foam roofing at three (3) of the district’s elementary schools.

  • Roof system was a progressive spray polyurethan foam with a silicone roof coating.

  • Work included areas of abatement, new roof hatches, roof ladders, skylights, edge trim, an equipment screen, and approximately 13,500 sqft of new EPDM roofing.
